This report is a call to action to preserve public trust in research – the absence of which is costing lives every day – and research integrity. It underscores the need for more sophisticated research evaluation systems that measure quality not quantity of output.

Glad we were able to help support this. I get requests every day to give talks at fake meetings. It's easy enough for me to recognize them for what they are and to ignore them, but there are systems of academic promotion that use excessively simple quantitative criteria that create incentives to participate in these corrosive activities.

There is a possible solution - The new Fidelior research tool that can assist authors, academics, reviewers, editors, examiners, PG students, etc. to identify questionable publishers and avoid citing them and publishing in them.
