how ukraine voted in their 1991 independence referendum every region—even crimea (barely)—voted for independence
Après 70 ans de communisme!
Looking forward to Ukraine holding genuine referendums once stability is established.
After centuries of existing in the shadow of Mother Russia, Ukraine has emerged into the sunlight politically, economically and culturally while Russia specializes being a bully with former Soviet Republics and covering up their struggling economy. The map showing the different sections of The Ukraine and the pro-Independence voting majority in 1991. Now, the Russian economy is ALL about oil and the Ukrainian people want to join the European Union and now want to be part of NATO. The Russian threat to use nuclear weapons will not stop the continued armed battle to secure the Ukraine borders from their ex-partner.
What was the voter turnout?
This literally made me laugh! 🤣
That was before the current Ukraine government began marginalizing and purging the ethnic Russians in Ukraine. Shows the importance of having an inclusive culture…lesson learnt for us Americans hopefully!
This war for Ukraine is the same as Independence War for US. The same story: Seemingly the same nation but with massively different visions. Again, the Elder one thinks that he owns the Younger one and the latter can't make it on his own. But you know what? US could do it and Ukraine can do it too.
A Crimeia foi e será a calcanhar de Aquiles para a Europa. Ler os cavaleiros!0

2yThe facts are that Ukraine is a sovereign state, just like Poland & Germany. Russia invaded a sovereign state with a full military force & annexed 5 regions of Ukraine into Russia. BOOT Russia from the UN Security Council with a new UN. Add Germany, Japan & India to the Security Council.
