People ask me why I've advocated for OpenSearch Project joining an open source foundation. One of the significant advantages is adopting 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙜𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚. While some steps have been taken before, like establishing a leadership committee with non-Amazonians, now the project will benefit from a full open governance model, with the oversight of The Linux Foundation.
