What’s not highlighted here is that we had Secretary Wormuth CODE LIVE during her visit. She paired with one of our engineers to develop a feature, run security scans through our CI/CD pipeline with CReATE, get it into production, and have it accessible on a Soldier’s cell phone, all within a matter of minutes. It was amazing to see Secretary Wormuth experience the Army Software Factory process live and seeing immediate value for our users. #BySoldiersForSoldiers #armystrong #armydigital
Earlier this week, AFC had the pleasure of hosting the Honorable Christine Wormuth, Secretary of the U.S. Army, and some of her staff to include Mr. Douglas Bush, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology & Army Acquisition Executive. Attendees were acquainted with the current state of AFC and our command’s efforts to lead US Army modernization in order to provide future warfighters with the concepts, capabilities, and organizational structures they need to dominate. The visit also included an Army Software Factory tour and discussion with Soldiers from #SWF Cohorts 1 and 2, giving our visitors a glimpse into how software designed by Soldiers can better help Soldiers in the field. #TeamAFC #ForgeTheFuture #TeamAFC #Defense #Army #TomorrowIsWorthProtecting

First Service Secretary to push real code to production? Army Software Factory and Enterprise Cloud Management Agency setting some records here…
A massively underrated part about Ms. Wormuth pushing code is it's reflective of the culture y'all are pushing at the Army Software Factory. "Shared code ownership" It's not about who pushed the code or did the work, it's about the outcomes. If there's a bug in the code Ms. Wormuth pushed (or anyone else on that team for that matter), no one would hunt her down to fix it - everyone is in it together and would get it fixed up and pushed.
And they thought Mt. Everest was tall. SECARMY practicing DevSecOps in-real-time with secure, validated systems. That’s real mountaineering.
