How are women in rural India reshaping local economies? Through Didi Ki Dukaan (DKD), a community-led retail model is empowering young women entrepreneurs to become #WorkLifeReady and turning learning to livelihoods while improving access to everyday essentials in their communities. Built on the familiar “kirana” (neighbourhood store) model, each Didi (sister) is equipped with the tools, training, and support to run a sustainable micro-enterprise that expands community access and reinvests income back into families and neighbourhoods. Supported by YuWaah India at UNICEF and implementing partner B-ABLE Foundation, over 350 women-led DKD stores are thriving cross India today.
