Imagine by 2030 the population of youth in Africa and what we can achieve when empowered with quality education, relevant skills, technology, and leadership training will unlock Africa’s greatest transformation yet. Top 6 Longest-Serving African Presidents Africa has witnessed leaders whose time in power stretches across generations. From Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo’s remarkable 45 years in Equatorial Guinea to Paul Kagame’s 25 years in Rwanda, these six presidents have collectively ruled for more than two centuries. Their leadership has outlasted global shifts, new constitutions, and countless elections — but it raises one important question: why do so many African leaders hold on to power for so long? Let’s look at the facts: • Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo (Equatorial Guinea) – 45 years since 1979 • Paul Biya (Cameroon) – 42 years since 1982, now Africa’s oldest sitting president at 91 • Denis Sassou Nguesso (Republic of Congo) – 40 years in total (current term since 1997; also ruled from 1979–1992) • Yoweri Museveni (Uganda) – 39 years since 1986 • Isaias Afwerki (Eritrea) – 32 years since 1993 • Paul Kagame (Rwanda) – 25 years since 2000 Longevity in leadership can bring stability, but it also has its downsides. Many of these countries have not seen the level of economic transformation one might expect after decades of consistent rule. Long stays in power often limit innovation, block new voices, and slow the kind of reform that young, forward-thinking leaders could bring. Africa is the world’s youngest continent — over 60% of its people are under 25 — yet the average age of its presidents is nearly four times that. Could the continent benefit from a new generation of leaders? Leaders who understand the digital era, embrace global collaboration, and drive inclusive growth? This isn’t about rejecting experience or wisdom. It’s about balance — keeping what works while allowing space for renewal. Africa’s progress depends on leaders who can adapt, inspire, and empower. Governance must evolve to match the energy, creativity, and ambition of its youth. In the end, the real issue isn’t simply how long leaders stay in power — it’s what they do with that power. Africa deserves leadership that transforms potential into progress, fosters accountability, and builds opportunities that reach every generation. #Leadership #Africa #Governance #YouthEmpowerment #PoliticalChange #Innovation #Development #AfricaRising

Young people are often misunderstood. Their passion is mistaken for aggression, their silence for passivity, and their balanced approach for a lack of seriousness. When they engage in leadership spaces, they are seen as too young or inexperienced; when they do not, they are told they are not ready to lead. It is time we move beyond these narratives. Youth leadership is not a vision for tomorrow — it is a reality today. As we gather in Nairobi for the Second AACC Youth Conference, I look forward to engaging with fellow young leaders, sharing perspectives, and building stronger networks for a more resilient and peaceful Africa. At the ADEA 2025 Triennale in Accra, Ghana, I had the opportunity to present evidence from UNICEF’s Global Evaluation of Teacher Development, highlighting three critical levers for strengthening teacher systems across Africa: ✨ Empowering middle-tier leadership to mentor and support teachers effectively. 💡 Embedding teacher welfare and professional voice at the core of quality improvement. 🌍 Harnessing digital platforms as accelerators for inclusive, system-wide CPD. Together with insights from UNESCO-IICBA on national CPD and leadership standards, the message was clear: Africa has the models and the evidence of what works – what remains is institutionalization within national frameworks and accountability systems. 🌍 A New Era of Accountability A new generation is reshaping expectations of governance. As Mpho Moletlo Kgosietsile (FCG) Kgosietsile, Managing Director of Wise Leadership (Pty) Ltd. from Botswana, observes, young people today are unafraid to take risks and ready to demand results from their leaders. With growing political awareness and the power of social media, governments now operate with the knowledge that their mandate can expire if they fail to deliver. Project HZiQZ: The iSPECIAL Mobility Ecosystem and Strategic Resilience Securitization [ #Google #Gemini #AI #Feedback to #Settlor : ( " #Global #Frontiers #Trust #Fund ") and ( " #DALIFA #Trust #Fund " ). Executive Summary: The Resilience Investment Thesis C & A Tours & Travel Operators Limited (Hertz Uganda), hereinafter "the Enterprise," commands a formidable strategic position within the high-end corporate transport and logistics sector in East Africa. However, this potential has been consistently undermined by a hostile commercial environment characterized by deliberate market manipulation, corporate collusion ("business cannibalism"), and vulnerabilities to white-collar crime, which has resulted in a multi-billion investment meltdown. The Solution is Securitization for Resilience. Project HZiQZ is not a typical refinancing; it is a strategic maneuver utilizing Whole Business Securitization (WBS) and Intangible Asset Securitization (IAS) to create a financially and legally segregated structure. This structure will quarantine core cash flows, finance the development of the proprietary iSPECIAL Mobility Ecosystem, and deploy a Triple-Pronged Strategy of defensive market tactics to ensure long-term stability and hyper-growth across the AfCFTA zone.
