Today I’m launching a new initiative, which will inspire the next generation of male leaders in Canberra. Each year there will be two Awards for Under-Represented Men in Leadership, with the winners announced on International Men's Day (celebrated every year on the 19th of November in case you didn’t know). Men from all under-represented categories are encouraged to apply: Indigenous, cultural/ethnic backgrounds, young men, economic/educational/social disadvantage, disabled, and others. These Awards include three benefits: a $10k scholarship to undertake further studies or professional development in the areas of leadership and governance; a structured mentorship program where we will work together for almost one year; along with networking opportunities and introductions that are tailored to each specific winner. This will be a life-changing experience for all of the winners. I’m very much looking forward to seeing an acceleration in the professional development and personal growth of every winner... The Awards are open to men who work and live in Canberra, and who have high leadership potential for driving positive change. Male leaders from business, public sector, government, non-profits, education, and other sectors are encouraged to apply. Selection criteria include being a positive male role model, the demonstration of agency in your life, and making a significant contribution to our community. Applications are currently open until October 19. Full details are available in the attached presentation, and at the Featured section of my Linked profile.
