copenhagen atomics’ Post

Copenhagen Atomics wants to turn the #nuclearenergy business model on its head, taking away the risk for the taxpayer and the customers. One of the main arguments against nuclear energy today is that it is expensive, oftentimes over budget and ends up costing the taxpayer a lot of money. We want to change that! By building, installing, operating and decommissioning the reactors ourselves we remove the CAPEX involved with building a #power plant and remove the necessity for taxpayer investments. Thereby, the only cost is for the energy output from the reactors at an estimated sales price of #electricity below $20/MWh, much cheaper than any other energy source. We believe this is the way to accelerate the #greenenergy transition without costing the taxpayer a thing. What do you think?

copenhagen atomics something here doesn’t make sense. Unless you want to run at a loss, whoever covers your CapEx will want a return, at least as good as they would get in a bank if we discard your risk. Fine that you forecast an operating cost of 20€/MWh but this is not your LCoE. Also, 20€/MWh operating cost is high compared to other renewable energy solutions. This is just basic project finance…

Would love to see you using Latvia as a sandbox example of efficacy. Cheap energy is vital for us after getting off Putins gas needle.

I foresee a world where each town, city, large manufacturing plant and other large consumers each has their own reactors in a decentralised grid, with no government involvement or money whatsoever. Only private operators and private money! Zero tax rate on electricity!! This way we can make electricity so cheap that we no longer need to consider how much we are consuming.

In a region actively looking to utilize nuclear energy as a sustainable option, this model that takes away the risk for both the taxpayer and customers is an attractive proposition. By handling everything from building to decommissioning the reactors, and offering the energy output at such competitive prices this could be a game-changer for many ASEAN nations striving to meet their energy needs in an economically efficient and environmentally responsible manner. for further info : https://lnkd.in/gKqFurvU

To win over the consumer it has to be safe and cheap and copenhagen atomics has the best solution to achieve this. Of course there is also some work to do to win over the sceptics, but surely they too will see the light and commit to the SMR technology. For far too long all you had to do was call it "Green" then force it upon the consumer at any price. These times are coming to an end, thankfully.

Disrupting traditional business models is always interesting... we look forward to both your technological success and your business model success... because from the discussion at the WorldMiningCongress in Australia this week, there's virtually no chance of extracting, processing, manufacturing or recycling sufficient critical materials to deliver the equipment and technology for the green energy transition without low cost nuclear.

If you can use nuclear waste to produce green energy, the last and most important barrier is gone. Please start building your concept asap

Very cool copenhagen atomics, a great step and initiative in the zero-carbon energy transition. Cheap and secure carbon free base-load capacity FTW. Well done! 👍

Simply build a hydrogen factory next door and team up with the large shipping companies.
