Did you know that the City of Sydney has a 5.3% gender pay gap... in favour of women? We have actively prioritised an inclusive and supportive environment for women, which means women make up: 🗳️ 70% of our Council 📣 55% of our Executive team 🤝 53% of our Managers We have increased female employment across the City from 29% in 2005 to 42.7%, with: ✅ 52 weeks of parental leave with superannuation ✅ Paid domestic and family violence leave ✅ An active Women’s Staff Network, breastfeeding support, and mentoring programs. This International Women's Day we reflect on and celebrate that achievement, but acknowledge there is still such a long way to go in addressing gender equality. And achieving gender equity is a critical issue not just because it’s linked to improved national productivity and economic growth, but because – more importantly – it's the right thing to do. Together, let's shape a more equitable and inclusive future for all. Happy #InternationalWomensDay, Sydney!
Should it not be the same though? A pay gap isn’t positive for anyone.
This is what systemic change to inequity looks like - a shining example

6hI’m not sure that’s the brag you think it is, if we are saying the same thing in the other direction highlights gender descrimination. So does this. Discrimination is discrimination regardless of gender, race, creed or religion.
