Reinventing a Sydney icon through circular design. Instead of demolishing the 1970s AMP Centre, Quay Quarter Tower was transformed into a 49-storey landmark for Sydney’s Circular Quay retaining 98% of the original structural walls and core and 65% of the existing floorplates. This saved 12,000 tonnes of embodied carbon the equivalent of nearly 70,000 Sydney–Melbourne flights. It’s the world’s first commercial tower retrofit to feature double-deck lifts, saving nine lift shafts and creating 120m² more usable space per floor. Smart building technology optimises air quality and energy use, while a high-performance façade with custom sunshades reduces cooling demand and maximises daylight and harbour views. With a 6 Star Green Star rating, 5.5 Star NABERS Energy, and WELL Platinum, Quay Quarter Tower proves that the greenest buildings can be the ones we already have reimagined for the future. #CircularEconomy #Retrofit #Sustainability #WorldGreenBuildingWeek #NetZero #GreenBuildings 3XN/GXN BVN Architecture Quay Quarter Tower is managed by Dexus and owned by Dexus Wholesale Property Fund, Mirvac Wholesale Property Fund and Rest.
