Life is unexpected no matter how hard you try to plan for it and cement your stability. I've had a front row seat this year. My husband died suddenly 5 months ago, leaving me a single mom, and today I got laid-off from Google. Layoffs are not the under performers - I know, because of the incredible peers I see in the job market today. I'll find my footing again one day - but until then, I lean to you, my community, to help. If you know of any open positions (in recruiting, people ops or general HR), please share them with me or tag people I should connect with. Thanks!
I just sent you a link to my companies Greenhouse, and also shared your profile with our hiring managers in recruiting and people ops! Would love to see another Y friend join me in Start Up Land :)
Anne Appleton, MSW I'm sorry to hear this. Commenting for reach and to vouch for what an amazing recruiter you are! Anne worked directly with me at Talkdesk on executive level searches. Anne is smart, tenacious and extremely strategic. She can understand specific business needs quickly, put together a strategic sourcing plan and execute. She is great talent and a huge asset to any company. Anne Appleton, MSW if I can do anything to help please let me know.
I was laid off at Meta last November, one year since my Dad passed away from pancreatic cancer. I know how you are feeling. It's like having 2x the amount of grief you already have. Take time. I will be on the look out for you 💖
Anne - I’m so sorry to hear this news. It was a true pleasure working with you, and based on my experience, your next company will be fortunate to have you. Better times to come. I’ll keep you in mind.
Anne you are an incredible human being! I admire your strength. I could speak to your capabilities as a recruiter but the reality is that the tenacity, care, curiosity, and grittiness you embody will serve you in any future role (not just recruiting). Thank you for allowing me to learn from you and grow with you during our time at Google. I am here for you whenever you are ready.
Anne I am so, so sorry, words can’t express what you’re going through. My heart is aching for you but if there is anything I can do, please do reach out. I was part of the Google layoffs too and I will send every role I find your way. You will get through this, you have a huge support system with all of us. Sending you love and prayers 🩷
Happy to help Anne, I’ll drop you a note.
Commenting for reach and support! 🧡
