40 000 ha of degraded land to restore on the Island of #Samar, in #Philippines... This is the purpose of the MoU aDryada has just signed with the dynamic Governor of the province, Honorable @Sharee Ann Tan. It is in line with the National Greening Program that was launched in 2011 with the initial aim of reforesting 1.5 million hectares. As the project will be based on the three inseparable pillars of Climate, #Biodiversity and Improving the living conditions of local populations, it is to generate high-quality voluntary #carboncredits. Its content will be transparent for all stakeholders, as it will be part of a #PublicPrivatePartnership (PPP) - a format that aDryada systematically favors. We sincerely thank Honorable Sharee Ann Tan for her strong support. We are ready for the next steps.

Always refreshing to see projects bringing together #reforestation AND #biodiversity AND #localpopulation. (like Treecolor Alliance to put in a little plug for them too) Too often it's only about #carboncredits and #greenwashing only! Bravo!

Irony of history? While the #NatureRestoration law has just received a final green light, the European regulation on #CarbonRemoval #CRCF threatens the financing of #reforestation and sustainable forest management projects, in Europe and the tropical zone. aDryada is part of the new #NBScoalition, which brings together actors from around the world. Here we are ! Today aDryada and the pioneer company Fronterra signed an agreement to scale-up high-quality #reforestation and #afforestation projects in Latin America, which has the potential to become one of the most robust #NatureBased solutions up-stream markets. As Fabio Ferrari says, "a more structured market is coming to achieve global targets for CO2 sequestration - between 5 and 10gtCO2 per year by 2050. The Symbiosis Coalition announcement in May is a very big step on the demand side. Let's speed up the supply side too!”

On the 29th of May, aDryada, its partner Samar Bamboo Corporation, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Philippines, represented by Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, signed a MoU to deploy the country’s largest #reforestation project in the island of #Samar (90 000 ha of degraded land to be restored). The Green Samar project supports the priorities of the Philippine Government : #NatureBasedSolutions are a critical tool in the country’s arsenal to mitigate the effects of #climatechange. The projects is also to maximize the positive impacts on #biodiversity and support livelihoods of the surrounding communities through the development of bamboo economical activities in the vicinity of the Samar Island Natural Park, thus generating high-quality #carboncredits. https://lnkd.in/eEdGdWiT

Je viens de terminer la lecture de l’excellent livre de Christian de Perthuis, Carbon fossile, carbone vivant. Il donne une image très claire et très complète de l’#actionclimatique et de son impact économique. Pourquoi excellent ? Il ne reste pas dans l’énumération, il ne sombre pas dans le fatalisme, la prédication, mais au contraire donne des clés pour nous puissions construire en conscience un avenir acceptable – pour le plus grand nombre. Je cite une des phrases de sa conclusion que je ne peux qu’approuver : « A terme, ce sera l’état de la #biodiversité qui qui déterminera l’espace habitable et le nombre d’unité de notre espèce que la planète sera susceptible d’héberger. ». En cette veille de Noël, n’hésitez pas à l’offrir… Merci à Myriam Maestroni qui m’a fait rencontrer ce grand homme lors d'un évènement du Fonds e5t et à Etienne Arnould qui l’a invité à nous présenter son ouvrage lors d’un petit déjeuner Ardian qui présentait le nouveau fonds Averrhoa (Solutions Basées sur la Nature) conseillé par aDryada.

Something concrete at COP 28! On December 7, aDryada and its partner NOBLESSE GREEN ENERGY signed an MoU with the Nigerian authorities. Objective: restore 20,000 ha of forest in Osun state and act on 57,000 ha of mangroves in #CrossRiver state. We will naturally rely on the 3 inseparable and equally important pillars of Climate, #Biodiversity and improving the living conditions of local populations. We also plan to go for the formal framework of a #ppp (public-private partnership), which is a guarantee of transparency and equitable sharing of benefits. Many thanks to the national and local authorities of Nigeria for their trust. With a partner like Noblesse Green Energy, we can only be worthy of it! A suggestion after reading this relevant article: why not set up a Science Based Targets initiative type framework for countries? This would help to improve efficiency while keeping the level of quality, in particular, defining “reduction”, “removal”, “additionality” and a kind of “beyond value chain” at a planet level…
