SpaceX rocket to get $2B boost
Updated 3 months ago
SpaceX's Starship rocket program is getting a $2 billion boost this year. CEO Elon Musk went over plans for the company's space rocket during an audio chat on Twitter Saturday, adding it does "not need to raise incremental funding." SpaceX's Starship launch on April 20 ended in a mid-air explosion that left behind clouds of dirt, detritus and a hole in the launch pad. Musk noted they knew the "pad would erode during that launch, but didn’t think concrete would be smashed."
- Nasa chief Bill Nelson said Thursday SpaceX could be ready to launch its next Starship by early summer, barring approval from the Federal Aviation Administration.
- NASA, which has awarded multiple contracts to SpaceX, is more methodical with its testing. SpaceX views its often-fiery experiments as data-gathering opportunities.
