Colleges are making plans to reopen

The pandemic has thrown higher education into chaos, closing college campuses and sparking retaliation against online classes. Universities are mulling over plans for fall semester, but many just can’t afford to stay closed. The University of Alabama and Purdue University are among schools that say they’ll welcome students back in the fall — along with some major changes. Administrators have proposed regular virus testing, bans on large social gatherings, and inviting only a smaller number of students back to keep campuses safe.
