Welcome
- [Instructor] Hi, and welcome to this course on NVivo Starter 11. I'm David Rivers. NVivo Starter 11 is qualitative date analysis software that could be a powerful research tool for qualitative researchers who are interested in evaluating, interpreting, and explaining social phenomena. Qualitative data, that is non-numerical data, can be more challenging to gather, organize, and analyze, which is where NVivo comes in. In this course, we'll cover the basics of using NVivo Starter. We'll begin with a review of the ways to approach a research project before launching NVivo Starter to take a tour of the user interface. Then, we'll delve into ways to use NVivo Starter to gather and organize data, including importing various types of content, and using nodes and coding to organize that data. Then, it's on to analyzing data, where we'll learn about using text queries, and a couple of charting tools to help you visualize parts of your project in NVivo Starter. So, what do you need to know to follow along with me in this course? We'll cover that next.
