TK Barger

Rev. Tim Barger, PhD, combines experience and education in religion and journalism in his full-time position as religion editor of The Blade, Toledo's daily newspaper, where he writes features, columns, reviews, and news articles on the topic of religion. His academic degrees include a master’s in ministry and a doctorate in mass communications and media administration. He is an ordained minister in the Unitarian Universalist tradition, has worked as a chaplain, and has stood in many pulpits. He is affiliated with First Unitarian Church of Toledo as a community minister and is contributing minister to Unitarian Universalist congregations in Findlay and Lima, Ohio. Tim is also a religion scholar with a focus on humanism and world religions. He specialized in religion after a previous career in publishing as a writer and editor.
