MAZ worked on one of the first Flow based programming system where 3D content (OpenGL) and code logic/flow could co-exist together under a highly interactive 3d visual authoring environment. Large scale experiments with Matsushita, Epson and McGill University. Funded via 1.5M Canadian government grant and 3.5M private Japanese investment. Technology later acquired by private Japanese group.
eTV Satellite Television Project. Interactive IP-based DVB Television Architectures. Responsible for the vision, architecture and planning of an interactive television station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Wrote more than 300 pages of whitepaper documents describing the set-top box design, remote control interfaces, broadcasting infrastructures as well as content authoring systems. Worked with 4 different labs around the world (London, Seoul, San- Francisco, Singapore). Was directly involved in all funding activities leading to a USD 50M investment from a Malaysian / Australian and Japanese consortium.
Advanced Networking Technologies and Visualizations. During my close to 7 years at Eicon I worked around the world to help companies (such as France Telecom, Spanish Police, SAS, American Airlines, Chase Manhattan Bank to name a few) resolve complex telecommunication and infrastructure problems. Wrote the initial whitepaper that led to the development of the Aviva Terminal emulator that sold several million of copies worldwide. Principal architect and lead developer of one of the first virtual reality based network visualization tool as part of an R&D effort in the company Ireland labs. Eicon was later acquired by Dialogic for 400M.
