I enjoy creating and growing multinational, large scale development teams that understand the business' goals and can deliver what our stakeholders need when we deliver it, not when they asked for it. I have over 11 years of experience working in the software development industry, both as a developer and a senior manager. Over those years, I've learned many lessons but my two main focal points continue to be building cross functional relationships and empowering teams to think and act for themselves to deliver the best results for our company.
Managing the technology that powers our adaptive learning platform
* Direct the development of PayPal's Financial Products division with emphasis on credit, prepaid, and debit card management
* Increase financial flexibility for our customers by exposing credit capabilities throughout the PayPal Wallet.
* Built a 30+ person development team focused on PayPal credit servicing for both internal and external customers. This includes our web self-service site (http://www.billmelater.com), shopping website (http://shopping.paypal.com), customer service applications, merchant services applications, and collections applications.
* Responsible for our corporate wide Enterprise Services Architecture used for integrating our credit services throughout our organization. Heavy emphasis put on security, performance monitoring, auditing capabilities, and ability to create reusable components. Our infrastructure handles over 3 million requests a day and operates at a 99.99% availability rate.
* Lead a 15 person cross-functional team to deliver changes necessary for our business to conform to the 2009 Card Act. This included architecting a new credit statement platform delivery and presentment solution, delivering a new template solution for our private label products, and launching all externally facing websites onto a new web services framework. Executed technical solution with 15 people in the span of 9 months.
* Lead and delivered the BillMeLater Cashback Rewards Program from inception to completion in the span of 2 ½ months. This is a system that uses affiliate-backed revenue to generate demand to our merchants and products in the form of cash back incentives. It ties customer “click outs” to affiliate reports, which then is correlated to customers purchase history for accurate fulfillment. This system currently manages hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash back credits and affiliate revenue per day.
