    The Centibots project was funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) under the Distributed Robotics Program and was aimed at developing new technology to support the coordinated deployment of as many as 100 robots for missions such as urban surveillance. At the time, it was the largest deployed fleet of autonomous robots.

    Since 1995, the United States–Spain Council and the Fundación Consejo España–Estados Unidos have met annually at the Forum, alternating between the United States and Spain, to promote better relations, stimulate international trade and investment, and spread more knowledge to enhance both countries’ mutual images. The 2018 forum in Jerez de la Frontera provides prominent representatives from both countries with the opportunity to discuss current affairs and topics ranging from education and workforce training in the age of artificial intelligence to intelligent infrastructure and environmental sustainability in smart cities. In addition, we will discuss the challenges and opportunities for cooperation between Spain and the United States amid changing migration patterns in the African and Mediterranean regions. Chosen to attend "for making “significant contributions to advance numerous important causes.”
