Today, we take a look at a population of 23 facilities internationally to understand: who is behind the choice of software at Cannabis Licensed Producers? The results: 👉Management is still the main decision-maker regarding the software choice. Why? Adopting software is typically an organization-wide initiative. As LPs mature, understanding costs becomes essential, and software provides the tools management needs to make informed decisions. 👉Quality Teams often play a key role in software selection. Why? Any new software must go through the quality team for validation. Additionally, quality teams are usually responsible for documentation-heavy tasks and actively seek platforms that can reduce their workload. 👉Cultivation Teams are also involved in software selection Why? Cultivation teams want to perform better and to have data to make better decisions. Look at Alexandre Gauthier's example: the more data obsessive you are, the better results you achieve. Cultivation teams are also involved in the day-to-day activities of gathering data and filling out forms. 👉ERP / IT Teams contribute to the decision-making process. Why? Larger facilities often have existing systems that need maintenance and integration. These teams understand the intricacies of how systems communicate and are best suited to determine if a replacement or upgrade is needed. Finally, we also classify as "Management" those proactive managers who gather all these teams to collaboratively discuss the pros and cons before making an informed decision. The thought of bringing Zoolatech's remote teams together doesn’t always make sense. We have people working in a few different locations, including Istanbul, Guadalajara, Warsaw, and Kyiv. And the thing is, they’re often working on different accounts. So trying to force them into one location doesn’t automatically mean more productivity or creativity. Until there’s a solid business case - proof that being together in an office will really boost their productivity - we’re not going to push our people to come in. Plus, plenty of companies still offer fully remote work, so we need to be competitive in that way. That said, we also understand the value of in-person collaboration. For example, when I was in Warsaw last month, we invited nearby employees to come into the office for the week. About 50 people showed up, and everyone genuinely enjoyed the experience. People do want that connection; they just want the flexibility to choose when it makes sense. That’s the crux of our approach - being intentional with in-person work. We won’t force anyone into the office every day, but we will create opportunities for people to meet in person when it’s right. That’s the best balance for our team.

If you want your app to stay competitive, you need to make it easy to improve, scale, and support over time. Modular development makes this possible. That’s what we helped Ecolines and Autolux do at Stfalcon LLC | Mobile & Web Development Company. In 2023, we redesigned and rebuilt both apps from scratch, running design and development in parallel. Once we approved one set of screens, the developer started work on those, while the designer moved to the next batch. Instead of building one big codebase, we built the system in modules – each with its own job: User authentication Booking Fleet management Notifications Analytics Geotracking (See the table for details.)
