Shippers use Tusk's tech to print alternative carrier labels at their pack stations via their existing WMS/TMS, like Shipium, ShipStation, Deposco, Extensiv and Logiwa. When a shipper sits down and scrutinizes its logistics budget, one of the things that jumps out now is an increase in line items. The explosion of SaaS solutions and data products the past decade means shippers with an expansive view of trialling new things now have a bevy of subscription-priced software to analyze. Much like "cutting the cord" on cable has meant a transition to an unruly assortment of separately priced and often overlapping streaming services, shippers are now balancing the merits of the new age of "best of breed." One metric with which to gauge the efficacy of any software arrangement is ROI, or in the parlance of the software world, time to value. Shippers rightly want software to pay for itself sooner than it historically has, then want implementations to be easier and they want training and upkeep to be minimal. To wrap up #TPMTech this year, March 3-4 in Long Beach CA as part of the broader #TPM25 program, we'll be talking with a shipper and two technology vendors about how the software industry can (and has) made software easier to use and quicker to provide value.
