ANDRO is a provider of advanced software defined radio products including radio frequency machine learning (RFML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for wireless communications and networking. Under this contract, ANDRO will focus on delivering engineering, technical, and research services towards the development of engineering prototypes and production-ready capabilities at scale in the AI/wireless communications and RFML space. “We were notified of the award New Year’s Eve and what an exciting way to end 2024 and ring in 2025,” said ANDRO President Andrew Drozd. “The award further cements ANDRO’s position among an elite corps of ‘best-in-class’ government contractors from across the nation that are ready to respond to the Navy’s needs and complex service requirements related to AI, advanced wireless communications, and dynamic spectrum sharing among other areas. Our contributions will assist in assuring that the US Navy is well postured to sustain information dominance and spectrum superiority during these challenging geopolitical times.” Drozd attributes the SeaPort NxG award to Fred Frantz, ANDRO’s chief operations officer and capture manager. DISA Expands Thunderdome Zero Trust Program Deployment; Brian Hermann, Quoted. ExecutiveGov discusses the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) expansion of the Thunderdome zero trust program. In 2023, the program was deployed to 15 sites and plans are underway to extend it to 60 more sites in 2024.   The program involves four key components:  🔐 Customer security stacks 🔗 Software-defined wide area networking 📴 Secure access service edge capability, and  💯 Application security stacks.   Brian Hermann, DISA's director of the cybersecurity and analytics directorate, emphasized the program's role in advancing zero trust architecture, which is crucial for organizational security.   DISA has also finalized the contracting process to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s network security improvement efforts through Thunderdome.   Versa Networks is at the forefront of enhancing cybersecurity with their pivotal role in DISA's Thunderdome project. The US #Navy just issued an article detailing the success of their #ZeroTrust implementation for Flank Speed. The top line is that the #security environment they’ve developed achieved 100% (91 of 91) of the Zero Trust Target level activities and nearly 100% (60 of 61) of the Advanced ZT level activities outlined in the Department of Defense’s Zero Trust strategy. As a result, the US Navy is well ahead of the Department’s 2027 goal for implementing Zero Trust at a Target activity level within their systems.   Our team is honored to support the Navy's deployment and configuration of Microsoft security solutions for Flank Speed and help DoN achieve this historic milestone. The 2024 Defense Acquisition Workforce Writing Awards recognize original ideas and innovative approaches to tackling challenges and implementing acquisition flexibilities. The award winners showcased exceptional skill in enabling acquisition and achieving the goals set out in the National Defense Strategy (NDS) and were awarded at the event. “I’ve never seen a defense strategy that had so many phrases that tell you we need to do things differently,” noted DAU President Jim Woolsey. “Organizations don’t change easily,” Woolsey remarked. However, the acquisition community must innovate and adapt to address new challenges arising from the evolving global environment, near-peer competitors and rapid technological advancements. DoD has received “massive wake up calls” with lessons learned from evolving conflicts. These awards highlight the value Congress places on the workforces’ innovative ideas. In August, Marine Corps Logistics Integrated Information Solutions (LI2S-MC), in collaboration with  Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), facilitated tests for the latest version of the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES) — the DoD’s force deployment application. ICODES is an essential application that ensures effective transportation planning in both peacetime and wartime operations. The DoD uses ICODES to automate load planning and track cargo movements across land, air, and sea. The September ICODES deployment includes updates and new features to enhance functionality for planners and operators. The team updated two ICODES modules — the Sea Service Deployment Module (SSDM) and the Single Load Planner (SLP) — making it easier to generate documentation required for the military unit move process. New features include:  📍 A new interface with the Consolidated Air Mobility Planning System (CAMPS) Increment 1 (Inc 1) to transfer unit deployment airlift request data and all supporting airlift documentation to CAMPS Inc 1, and feed data into the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) system for sourcing and scheduling aircraft. 📍 The Joint Equipment Characteristics Database (JECD) module, a new prime repository for cargo characteristics of all equipment across the DoD. Required to process cargo for transportation,  relocating cargo characteristic data to the ICODES application will allow personnel to use it across all ICODES modules — enabling more precise unit deployment planning.  📍 A new Training and Resource tab offering computer-based training modules featuring step-by-step videos on various ICODES capabilities, helping users better utilize and navigate the system. #PEOMLB #LI2SMC Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Margaret "Peggy" Toth, Michael Buccola, Marine Corps Systems Command, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)

Las week I was invited (again) by the DoD to attend the AFSOR 2024 Trust and Influence Program Review on August 12-16, 2024. to be held in Dayton, OH. Department of the Air Force Chief Data and AI Office has been creating a healthy environment where academia and industry jointly with goverment share experiences and insights.
