Irving Loh MD FACC FAHA FCCP FACP

Dr. Loh is a board certified internist & subspecialty board certified cardiac specialist with emphasis on preventive cardiology. Founder of Ventura Heart Institute, which conducts education, research & preventive cardiovascular programs, former Asst Professor of Medicine/UCLA School of Medicine & former Asst Clinical Professor of Medicine/UC Irvine. Undergraduate at UC Berkeley, MD & internal medicine at UC San Francisco. His initial lipid research was at the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in both intramural (Molecular Diseases/Lipid Metabolism Branch) & extramural (Cardiac Diseases Branch; Division of Heart & Vascular Diseases) divisions. He then was faculty in both Departments of Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery at Cedars-Sinai. In private practice, he chaired the hospital IRB, founded the BioEthics Committee, directed the echocardiography lab. Principal investigator on over 160 cardiovascular clinical trials primarily in innovative approaches to dyslipidemia including PCSK9 MABs & CETPi's, heart failure, hypertension. Member of the Doximity Medical Advisory Board, advisor to Genomic Express, Tiatros, Skipta, LiftOff Health, Co-Founder/CMO of Infermedica. In 1987, he wrote his first EHR system with integrated quality of care metrics. He has presented at RAND, USC School of Business, UCLA Anderson School of Business, Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, & both UC Berkeley's Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society & the School of Public Health & at Harvard School of Public Health. He presented at TEDx on how medical advances are validated (see link). Chairs ACC FH Work Group subcommittee on Clinical Implementation. Current activities include integrating preventive cardiovascular care algorithms into primary care environments (ACOs/PCMHs), being lead contributor to SERMO's Cardiology Hub, implementing AI/machine learning into clinical decision support as CMO & Co-founder of Infermedica.
