Lead the team of Solution Architects accountable for the architecture of the horizontal IT platforms used by Microsoft's Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization (MSCIS). Team's specific purview includes MSCIS' platforms for Integration, Portals/Collaboration, Human Workflow, IT Systems, BI/DW, and Analytics. Maintain hands-on individual contributor responsibilities for MSCIS's BI/DW and Analytics platform architectures.

Worked as an Architect in Microsoft's Supply Chain organization (MSCIS) focusing on BI/DW, Analytics, "Big Data", Machine Learning, and Data Mining. Personal obsessions include R, Java, Hadoop and, in particular, competing in Kaggle competitions.

Worked as a PM Architect in the SQL Server product group on SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).

As an Architect work on the MSIT Enterprise Architecture Team, responsibilities include:
- Working with Microsoft product teams on developing Microsoft's next-generation Software + Services (S+S) initiative.
- Evangelizing the adoption and usage of Common Information Models, Common Architectures, Design Patterns, and Engineering Processes.
Functioned as Architect and hands-on Technical Lead on the following projects:
- Development of a custom Computer-Telephony Integration (CTI) solution between an Aspect Telephony/IVR infrastructure and Microsoft CRM 3.0. Solution leveraged .NET 3.0, WCF, C#, Windows Services, Design Patterns, Microsoft Enterprise Library 3.0, automated unit tests, and WinForms.
- Development of a software product used to program, and diagnose problems with, on-board electronic components in vehicles. Solution leveraged .NET 2.0, VB.NET, WinForms, XML, Microsoft Enterprise Library 2.0, automated unit tests, and Design Patterns.
- Development of a .NET-based Web Services framework for the creation of an Enterprise SOA. Solution leveraged .NET 2.0, C#, ASMX, Microsoft Enterprise Library 2.0, and Design Patterns.
- Development of a custom SOA integration with Microsoft CRM 3.0. Solution leveraged .NET 2.0, C#, ASMX, Microsoft Enterprise Library 2.0, automated unit tests, and Design Patterns.

As a senior member of Safeco’s IT staff, acted as Architect and hands-on Technical Lead for a number of custom software development projects. Projects included:
- A legacy transformation project to architect a .NET-based replacement for a core mainframe legacy system. Solution leveraged .NET v1.1, C#, ASP.NET, Web Services, UML, and Design Patterns.
- Re-design and porting of an existing C++ online application to leverage ASP, VB 6.0, and a web services-based SOA.
- Development of a custom solution for the automatic verification of N-Tier application deployments of Safeco's custom applications. Solution leveraged C++, ATL COM, Windows Services, XML, STL, and Design Patterns.
- Development of a online commission application used by Safeco's entire independent agent sales force. Solution leveraged ASP, COM+, VB 6.0, XML, Web Services-based SOA, SQL Server, Design Patterns, and DB2.
As a senior member of the development team for this Internet start-up was responsible for all design, documentation, and implementation related to the e-commerce integration of a 3rd party credit payment system into the DirectSource e-commerce site. Technologies utilized were C++, ATL COM, STL, XML, VB 6.0, and MS SQL Server. Designed and implemented a tool used by the build team to remotely construct COM+ Applications over the network on specified servers. Implemented an XML-based application for defining, modifying, and executing build scripts for all company COM+-based e-commerce applications.
For this Internet start-up was responsible for the design, coding, and testing of back-end code for multiple web-based software systems. Systems were implemented utilizing C++, ATL COM, VB 6.0, ADO, SQL, XML, and MS SQL Server. Duties included creating database structures and stored procedures to support the implemented systems. Systems developed included: a web-based email system, a multi-channel web-based radio broadcast administration system, and Internet credit card processing. Accountable for systems documentation and working with the front-end ASP development team on final user interface specifications.

As a member of the Knowledge Based Systems (KBS) Unit, primary duties were the development and maintenance of the Home Expert (HES) system. HES provides automated underwriting for new homeowner’s policies. HES was implemented on the PC platform with C/C++ and MFC under the Visual C++ development environment.
