Exciting milestone from the Redesign Health portfolio! Cascala Health has raised $8.6 million in seed funding to accelerate its AI-powered clinical intelligence platform for post-acute care. Congrats to CEO & Co-Founder Matt A. Murphy and the Cascala team! This funding round, co-led by Flare Capital Partners and Eniac Ventures with additional backing from Omega Healthcare Investors, Ziegler Link-age Funds, Tau Ventures, and Digital Health Venture Partners, will help Cascala scale its platform, strengthen care teams, improve outcomes, and reduce costs across the post-acute continuum. We partnered with Matt A. Murphy to build Cascala, addressing one of healthcare’s biggest challenges: fragmented and inefficient care transitions that cost the system billions and compromise patient health. By embedding real-time, clinically responsible AI directly into existing workflows, Cascala empowers clinicians to close gaps, prevent avoidable readmissions, and deliver higher-quality care to patients when they need it most. CMS Innovation Center’s Anna Goldman shares how “episodes of care” are used in models like Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM) to strengthen collaboration in health care delivery. TEAM aims to improve the patient experience from surgery through recovery. Big news from CMS: At the White House’s “Make Health Technology Great Again” event, CMS unveiled its plan to modernize health data exchange: the CMS Interoperability Framework. As the nation accelerates toward a more connected, digitally enabled health care system, the American Medical Association supports a coordinated effort with physicians at the table. The voluntary blueprint aims to create a connected health tech ecosystem where: • Patients control and share their health info • Clinicians get timely, complete data at the point of care • Digital tools deliver personalized, real-time support • Payers enable value-based care through smarter data exchange Many organizations signed the pledge to support seamless, private, and frictionless data sharing to advance toward even greater interoperability. Technology absolutely needs to integrate across systems and settings, ensuring continuity of care, reducing fragmentation and burdens from disconnected tools and data silos, but there’s more work to be done to realize the potential of digital medicine and ensure the digital health ecosystem remains rooted in evidence, ethics, and usability. • Care must remain centered around the patient-physician relationship. • Data privacy and security must be prioritized to maintain trust and comply with ethical and legal standards. • Sustainable adoption depends on financial models that account for equitable payment and reward improved outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience. • Innovation must be grounded in science, with proven approaches rapidly disseminated to improve quality, safety, and effectiveness at scale Together, we can harness technology to improve care and build a future health care system that works for all. #DigitalHealth #HealthTech #Interoperability #HealthEquity #InnovationInHealthcare #PhysicianLeadership #CMS
