I'm a student at Eindhoven University of Technology with an interest in computer science and linguistics, and the combination of the two. On the side I work and have worked as a teaching assistant and in jobs related to the promotion of science and education, for instance in the organization of the RoboCup world championship 2013. Currently I am organizing math-related project days at Dutch high schools and a member of our university's promotion team.
A special interest of mine are the internal politics of our university. I have been in the departmental council since januari 2013, and in summer 2014 I will join the university council.

I am a student of the TRU/e Master in Cyber Security, a joint program involving both Eindhoven University of Technology and Radboud University Nijmegen. The program is the successor to the earlier Kerckhoffs Master in Information Security Technology.
Activities and Societies: Study Association GEWIS, University Council, Vereniging Groep-één

I got my Bachelor's degree in computer science at Eindhoven University of Technology. I picked my courses as broad as possible, and studied both subjects traditionally covered by Computer Sciences, like data structures, algorithms, software engineering and automata theory, as well as more user-focused courses like psychology and user interaction, sociology and consumer behavior, that are specifically developed for computer scientists in the modern information-driven society.
Activities and Societies: Education Committee of Computer Sciences, Study Association GEWIS, Faculty Council, University Council, Groep-één, Voorlichtingsteam

I chose to do a minor in linguistics, as my interests are broader than the field of computer sciences alone. Apart from being interested in the concept of languages, I specifically like the similarities and purposes shared with computer sciences, for instance in automatic language processing.
Gymnasium is the highest possible level of high school in The Netherlands. I graduated with exams in Dutch, English, Latin, physics, chemistry, economics, regular mathematics (B), extended mathematics (D) etcetera.

I work for the MedApp team at PharmIT as a PR / Marketing / Social Media person, to grow the exposure and the number of users of the MedApp project.

Involved in planning and executing the "Wiskunde Wereld" project, a game event for high school students to interest them for mathematics and help them decide which level of mathematics they want to do their exams in.

s.v. GEWIS is an active association for all students of mathematics and computer science at TU/e: with about fourteen hundred members and about thirty committees we are a vivid and active association. As a member of the 33rd board I am responsible for the wellbeing of the association during the year 2014 – 2015.
I was in the public relations team of the RoboCup 2013 organization, focussing on our social media outings. We organized the world championships for intelligent robots, a huge event that was held in the Eindhoven Genneper Parken during the summer of 2013. RoboCup 2013 had one and a half thousand participants and about 40,000 visitors, which is an all-time record for RoboCup events.

I am an elected member of the departmental council for the department of mathematics and computer science for the year 2013. I was elected first place with 25% of the votes (over seven candidates).
I was was a member of the staff of course 2IP90, an introduction to programming for first-year students. As a student-assistant I explained material to the students during the instructions, I corrected their homework and I manned the office hours and e-mail helpdesk for those with additional questions.
I've been a member of the PR-team since my first year at TU/e: at first I volunteered to give tours and "walkalong days" to potential students, later I joined the student team that represents our faculty at open days, visit high schools and supports the PR department in helping high school students with their decision. From 2013 on, I am in the university-wide team as well. That means I'm not only a representative for computer science, but a student ambassador for other programs and the university in general.
I have been a student mentor during the first semester of the year to guide and coach first-year students through their first exams and university experiences. For this I followed trainings on coaching and conversational skills.
I was asked by Cursor, our university newspaper, to write a fortnightly column for their website and magazine.
