Fourier Series Data Approximation

• As a project for a senior-level mathematical design class, I was tasked to “clean up” time data collected from the MTeX rocket launch in 2015. A team member and I utilized MATLAB software to write a program using a Cosine Series and a full Fourier Series to remove noise from the data. Approximations of the series were made using 5, 7, and 10 terms, and were superimposed over the actual data to compare fit. Approximations of the series were made using 5, 7, and 10 terms, and were superimposed over the actual data to compare fit. We created Harmonic Goodness of Fit charts to determine which approximation modeled the data the most closely. The results were prepared and submitted to the instructor in a report using AIAA formatting. My team members and I received a grade of A for our efforts.

Embry-Riddle wanted to design an application to assist incoming students or visitors with navigating campus, by giving walking directions from their location directly to any classroom or area of interest on campus. I led a team of six in the creation of this mobile application written in Java using Android Studio. I placed a high priority on Scrum teaming practices and Agile development throughout the project, to keep the team and schedule on track. I was responsible for up-keeping the backlog and burn down chart, as well as daily meeting logs, the compilation of all final documentation, and overall quality assurance. I led my team through the project planning, analysis, design, implementation, and testing phases of the Software Delivery Lifecycle process (SDLC) and ensured that requirements were met in full. The application was presented to the instructor and was briefly available for download.
