Reflecting on the transition to electronic health records (EHR), I couldn’t help but draw parallels to the current state of care delivery models. As CMS continues to nudge the healthcare industry towards value based care we are seeing a shift in how healthcare providers are incentivized and reimbursed. Just as CMS subsidized the transition to EHR, they are now providing financial support for providers to adopt new care delivery models that prioritize quality in outcomes over the volume of services. It’s encouraging to see the industry involved this way, and I’m excited to see how these changes will ultimately benefit patients and improve overall healthcare outcomes. #remotepatientmonitoring #valuebased

While I think the time horizon on this may still be a ways off for widespread adoption, because current models don't address value in a real way to enable risk sharing. I think this is however the inevitable way healthcare will go as the current approach does not begin to capture the true value of healthcare. What do others think?
