Had two Yr 4 LKC medical students over the week. Just starting out their year 4 journey. Impressed with their enthusiasm and wanting to learn, even as both want to specialise in surgical fields. Hope I shared some insights into a family practice and family medicine. Focused on holistic care, coordinating care and patient empowerment. Care plans that span cradle to grave. Included some details on running a private practice, the difference from public healthcare and how we aim to bridge/complement under shared care programmes. Hope they remember some of these as they continue their journey thru med school and onwards. Keep the enthusiasm burning high and mighty! Thank you for the thoughtful treat! #fammed #familypractice #lkcmedicine

This Sunday, on a little break between work tasks, I’m trying to get my act together to invite guests to the soft launch of my new mindfulness bedtime book and pyjama line. For my Sunday gratitude journal, 1) I’m grateful to my good friend for lending me her shop space at Minor Miracles in Takashimaya for my book & pyjama event. 2) I’m grateful for the blood, sweat & tears that went into bringing the book to where it is today because I’m stronger for it. 3) I’m grateful for the opportunity to engage parents/ grandparents/ caregivers in this interactive book to have big conversations with little children in a safe space. Soft launch happens on 25-27 November 11am-6pm. Rsvp with the hourly slot you’d like to attend! See you there. 💙#mindfulness #grateful #booklaunch #childrensbook

Shared my view on the recent surge cases and strain on healthcare institutions. The new 1-2-3 simplification aims to streamline testing. And hopefully direct the much needed healthcare resources to those who need it and empower people to recover in comforts of their homes. Good opportunity for everyone to gain some health literacy, awareness on self management and exercise social responsibility. Limitation and advantages of telemedicine show cases to the masses may change the nature of primary care. Stay safe everyone! #healthcare #testing #tampinesfmc #familyphysician

Continuous Learning... Check... Osteoporosis is a silent and insidious disease like hypertension. Loss of bone mass and subsequent risk of fragility fracture pose much morbidity and mortality to an ageing population. Preventing osteoporosis through education, diet, exercise and early treatment if necessary. Do speak with your primary care doctors on screening for osteoporosis, especially for post-menopausal ladies aged 65 and above ( and men too!). #health #medicine #healthcare #tampinesfmc
