At the Professional Body for Environmental Hygiene, we believe that access to clean, functional toilets is not a luxury but a basic human right. By raising awareness, promoting sanitation education and advocating for improved infrastructure, we can take steps toward a future where everyone has access to safe sanitation. Join us in celebrating 50 years of cleaner, safer water with the Water and Health Advisory Council's Safe Drinking Water Act Anniversary campaign! This nationwide initiative aims to highlight the public health achievements facilitated by the Act, address the current challenges associated with providing safe and affordable drinking water to people throughout the United States, and will discuss the future direction of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Janet Anderson PhD DABT, a member of the Water and Health Advisory Council, is excited about the campaign’s mission. “The Safe Drinking Water Act was a landmark public health initiative, introducing vital regulations and water treatment standards that drastically enhanced drinking water quality. But there is still more work to do! Too many people in this country do not have reliable access to safe, affordable, and sustainable drinking water, and the situation is not improving under the current regulatory paradigm.” To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/g3fdRVdP #SafeDrinkingWaterAct #PublicHealth #WaterSafety

“No drinking water” 🙅 We've probably all read this sentence a hundred times. Why is clean water not just drinking water? It depends on the quality of the raw water on the one hand and the requirements of the water on the other. This can be process water, water for medical purposes or drinking water, for example. The treatment of drinking water always requires filtration. Depending on the desired degree of purity of the water, different principles of filtration are used. There are three basic principles: 1️⃣ Surface filtration 🪨 2️⃣ Depth filtration ⬇️ 3️⃣ Cake filtration 🍰 They are the most popular, but there are other special filtration processes for treating drinking water 💧 In the magazine, we have summarized how “no drinking water” becomes “drinking water”: https://hubs.li/Q02-j-rN0 -- Aqua free - Your Specialist for Water Hygiene
