🔒📢 IMPORTANT NOTICE 📢🔒 🚫🔧 No "Glitch" in Alesco Payroll System 🔧🚫 Dear all, We would like to bring to your attention an important matter regarding the Alesco Payroll system. There has been some misinformation circulating about a "glitch" in the system, but we want to clarify that this is not the case. The term "glitch" is simply a cover story. The Income Tax (2024 Budget) (Amendment) Act 2023 was passed by Parliament along with the 2024 National Budget, and it officially came into effect on 1 January 2024. This amended Act has resulted in the discontinuation of Concessional Dependent Rebates as of the same date. As a result, individuals who were previously enjoying the K20,000 tax-free threshold will now experience a reduction in their take-home pay. Specifically, their tax deductions will increase by no less than K67 per fortnight, starting from the first pay of 2024. Those earning above the K20,000 threshold will also be subject to additional tax deductions. Furthermore, individuals earning above K490 per fortnight will see a tax deduction reflected on their payslip from 1 January 2024 onwards. We want to emphasize that this is not a glitch or technical error. It is a deliberate change introduced through legislation. In order to address this issue, it is crucial that the Act be repealed by Parliament. We urgently call for the recall of Parliament to repeal this Act and rectify the situation. Please help spread this message to ensure that everyone is aware of the situation and the necessary steps that need to be taken. Together, we can work towards resolving this matter and advocating for the best interests of our country. Thank you for your attention and cooperation. Best regards, Alesco System Analyst

This information must be coming from team ALESCO..🤔
If it is not a glitch, than those saying it's a glitch should be charged for lying. Start with the Prime Minister.
Internal Revenue Commission PNG care to provide feedback on this at your earliest convenience for the benefit of everyone. Thanks

Just as thought. Thank you for sharing this great information.

1moThis is NOT true. I'm an experienced Payroll Personell and I've studied the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2023 at length. There's two things to note: 1. The maximum amount of raise in Tax you will notice on your Payslip is K40.38 per fortnight and no more than that. This is because of the Government repealing the 'Dependent Rebates'. 2. The threshold of K20,000.00 per annum (or K769.23 per fortnight) remains. If your fortnightly wage is below K769.23, you will NOT be paying Tax. The situation is still tense so it is not a responsible thing to do to misinform the public. I urge you all to consult your HR/Payroll teams.
