📣 New Supplier Announcement: Bio-Logical 📣 We are excited to announce a new supplier, Bio-Logical, whose solution creates biochar from macadamia-nut waste and works to build resilience against climate change for smallholder farmers in Kenya.🌱 Bio-Logical specialises in the development of carbon removal projects that address immediate impacts of climate change in Africa, such as rising temperatures, droughts, soil degradation, and failed harvests. By creating and utilising biochar within the community, Bio-Logical’s projects also benefit regeneration of land in areas of increased climate vulnerability. Described by Philip Hunter, Co-founder of Bio-Logical: “We're very excited to announce our partnership with Klimate! As our first CO₂ removal partnership this is a huge milestone for us that will propel us forward in our mission to create a more sustainable future for those on the frontlines of the climate crisis… Our partnership with Klimate will significantly accelerate carbon removals in Kenya whilst simultaneously growing the climate resilience of smallholder farmers. We are looking forward to building this partnership over many years as we scale across the region to sequester 1 million tonnes of CO₂ and support 1 million smallholder farmers to become more climate resilient by 2030.” And from Simon Bager, PhD, CIO of Klimate: “We are excited to announce our partnership with Bio-Logical, a pioneering biochar company scaling carbon removal solutions in Kenya. This collaboration represents a significant stride towards advancing sustainable solutions at the intersection of social and environmental impact. By harnessing the power of biochar, Bio-Logical is not just transforming agricultural waste into a valuable resource for local farmers, but is also fostering a circular economy that addresses pressing environmental concerns and mitigates global warming. We are excited about the prospect of working together to amplify these benefits, creating a meaningful and lasting impact in Kenya and beyond.” We are excited to bring on this new biochar supplier and look forward to the road ahead. Together, we can continue our mission of scaling high quality carbon removals all over the world and contribute towards a future global net zero. #carbonremoval #co2removal #supplier #announcement #biochar #kenya #sustainability #climatechange

📣 You may have heard the news: we launched a new update to our due diligence. 📣 Before we can give ourselves a pat on the back for a job well one, our impact team is working to reassess all projects on the new 2024 criteria. This, of course, means we had to first share this news with our network of projects as well. And, sure, not everyone was as excited as we were. Bottom line: without each of the great carbon removal suppliers we work with, we would not be able to continue to raise the bar for integrity and quality in the market. We're so glad to bring them along in this process to lead the industry in terms of our stringent project analysis. Dive deeper into how we raise the bar via our analysis framework on our site: https://lnkd.in/ds4-jn93
