So thankful to email interviewees for this Mozilla-funded #AI Sustainability Principles project that We Are Open Co-op is working on for Friends of the Earth. Such amazing links and insights 🙏 One thing that's coming through loud and clear so far is the amount of conflation between, for example *predictive* AI (e.g. weather forecasting, electricity grid balancing) and *generative* AI (e.g. image creation, creating LinkedIn posts with the right hook) 😉 We're hosting a roundtable event for a (very) small number of invited experts and some observers. From that, we'll further shape the principles and write a report which will drop January 2025.
