Today I am sharing that I have left Activision and Treyarch after an incredible 18 years and 8 Call of Duty games. To my co-workers at Treyarch, I am immensely grateful for the time we invested working to improve our craft, never sitting on successes, and always wondering how to improve what we design and how we produce it. Thank you to the Call of Duty community for your passion and enthusiasm. That energy has often fueled our determination as a studio and individuals. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to interact with so many of you directly online and in person. This energy will always be a massive part of me. I am staying in the games industry, working on an undisclosed project I can't discuss yet, but I am excited about a rare and unique opportunity. I'll update you as soon as possible. David / Vahn
I've been around for 20 titles now. First as a player, then as a moderator and later as an editor and leader in the oldest Call of Duty fan site in Germany. "CoDInfobase" Treyarch and especially you were an integral part of Call of Duty and a great discussion partner in the community. I wish you all the best and success with your new project. Best regards Arne PS: I'm the one in the red shirt, you wanted me for your football team ;) 😉
Dear Vonderhaar, Your departure from Treyarch marks the end of an era that has profoundly impacted the gaming community. Your dedication, creative genius, and the unforgettable Black Ops series have left an incredible legacy. As a fan, I'm immensely grateful for the memories and inspiration your work has provided. The countless hours of enjoyment and camaraderie owe so much to your contributions. While this chapter comes to a close, I'm excited about the path you'll forge ahead. Your next steps are bound to be as remarkable as your journey at Treyarch. Wishing you continued success and looking forward to your future endeavors. Thank you, David, for everything. Best regards, Mostafa Said
As someone who came from the Call of Duty community to now working with the Call of Duty community here at Activision, I just want to say thank you for everything you've done. You've paved the way for so many of us. You're truly a legend in the gaming industry, and I can't wait to follow what's next for you in your journey. Wishing you the best of luck, Vahn!
Thank you for putting your passion into what you do every day. The Black Ops series is and always will be #1 in the entire franchise for me. Games you directed were full of creativity, fun and replayability. You knew the fans you were creating for and it showed in your work and person. I wish you the best of luck and will be supporting 100 percent whatever this next project is. In Vahn We Trust ❤️ 🙌🏼
Sad to see you go from there! I know it was up's and down, but glad to see you staying in the gaming world and look forward to seeing what undisclosed project you are working on. I know anything you get your hands on, you make it better.
I remember the good ole days of you blasting “Like a G6” in your office when we were working on black ops 1 while burning the midnight oil to make sure the game launched with a little to no issues as possible. Thank you for making 3arc a memorable moment in my life. Congrats on such an amazing run! Looking forward to your next project!
