Yesterday marked 3 months since I quit my job and started freelancing full time. I thought I’ll share some tips/advice for others who are thinking of making the jump: 👉🏽 Have some clients on the side before going freelance full time 👉🏽 Have enough savings in the bank for a few months, in case it takes time to get clients or if you end up chasing invoices 👉🏽 Don’t say yes to everything. Work with clients who share the same values as you and understand SEO to a certain extent and not going to keep asking you about results every few days 👉🏽 Don’t lower your rates just to get work. There are businesses out there who will pay what you deserve 👉🏽 Network, network and network Here’s to the next 3 months 🙌🏾
Savings in the bank is key. Not having it will kill your ability to execute / drain all your bandwidth.
Nice one Shumon Ali I’m sure there’s plenty of time to come 👍
Great advice. For anyone thinking of starting out on thier own this is a good way todo it.
Well done mate, it is only the start of your journey 🙌
Some solid tips here that I wish I knew at the start! Shumon Ali
“Don’t lower your rates just to get work.” Needed to hear this right now! Thank you 👏
Third point is spot on. I think in most cases the difficulty comes from not the work itself but from the client. 👍
