Three years ago today I was fired from my job. 😭 Today now marks the beginning of my FOURTH year freelancing full-time. 😮 5 Freelancing Tips: 1. Yes, health insurance is expensive. I'll pay $17k this year just in just insurance premiums. View this as a cost to unlock your freedom. 2. Yes, starting out is scary. It's critical to take one day at a time and keep marching forward. 3. A healthy emergency fund is the key to making freelancing less scary and allows you to make sound business decisions. 4. Networking and building relationships has always been my best source for getting new clients. 5. Be results oriented - tie your work directly to revenue. When the data shows you are a positive investment, your clients will be happy to pay your invoices.

Ran an SEO consulting practice for 6 years. One of the most valuable things I learned was how to differentiate between good and bad clients after an introductory call. Bad clients can ruin your business. Learn to steer clear.

Great advice and insight, Nick!
