Today was Empathy Day at Aiimi with a focus on learning how different people access products and how we can be more inclusive in the way we design and build software. Accessible products ensure that people with disabilities – whether they are cognitive, physical, visual, or auditory – can interact with, navigate, and contribute to the web. The day started with a spotlight talk from Chris Bush of Nexer who guided us through the various challenges and obstacles that commonly prevent impaired users from engaging with digital products and services. Then, our Product team, which includes UI and UX designers, ran through a series of workshops to equip them with the basic principles that will help them evaluate their own digital products to ensure they are providing the best, most inclusive experience for all our users. As part of the day, we set up 6 emulation stations to replicate the experiences of users with different accessibility needs. This allowed us to empathise with our users and ultimately have various needs in consideration when building products. We're pleased to have collaborated with JLR along with 28 of their vendors and partners to bring their first ever #JLRDataFest! It was a fantastic week exploring how they use data across the enterprise to enable their vision to be the proud creators of modern luxury. Our CTO, Paul Maker was able to support one of the 40 sessions where he explained some of the key things to keep in mind when considering the use of #GenerativeAI at JLR. What a great event!
Last week saw us host our first ever #JLRDataFest! Data skills and roles are no longer confined to just our digital and data teams and are increasingly being used throughout our organisation – this is key to the delivery of our Reimagine strategy. We collaborated with 29 of our vendors and partners to host over 40 unique sessions exploring how we use data across our enterprise to enable our vision to be the proud creators of modern luxury. Featuring sessions on future trends in data and AI, building data capabilities, and how to be a female leader in the digital sector, to name a few, #JLRDataFest was a great success and helped us to connect our people and our skills across the organisation. We also had a fantastic share fayre with pancakes, popcorn, model factories, driving simulators and competitions! Day 2 at #JLRDataFest has been fantastic. The team has continued sharing with many from #JLR about Aiimi Insight Engine and how it can help them across various aspects of their roles. We’ve spoken with many from JLR spanning engineering, compliance, governance, and supply chain. In addition, Aiimi CTO Paul Maker joined Thomas Varghese, Data Adoption Lead at JLR and Georgiana Marsic (PhD), Principal Language AI and Ethical AI Manager at JLR for a session titled “#GenAI Breakdown: Demystifying Generative Technologies.” Throughout the session, Paul provided valuable information around what Aiimi have been doing in the #GenerativeAI space and more generally around some of the key things to keep in mind when considering the use of #AI at JLR. He was able to highlight many key focus areas from good information retrieval and search relevancy, all the way to prompt engineering and model selection. These areas are key to safe and secure AI and Gen AI deployment at enterprise level. Paul Maker’s session was very much in keeping with the theme of the entire data fest and that is to educate, inspire and connect JLR’s data community across the whole business. #JaguarLandRover #EnterpriseSolutions #ConnectedEnterprise #ArtificialIntelligence #DataInsights #DigitalTransformation
