❗️ Mission Update ❗️ On January 16, 2023, ION SCV008 Fierce Franciscus successfully released into orbit 🎯 Sharjah-Sat-1, the first CubeSat mission of the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST), in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University Space Systems Design and Test Laboratory (ITU-SSDTL) and Sabanci University (SU), onboard ION through a contract with ISISPACE Group. 🛰 The 3U+ CubeSat’s primary payload is an improved X-Ray detector (iXRD), with the objective of detecting hard X-rays from very bright X-ray sources. The secondary payload is a dual-camera system for 🌏 Earth imaging, which will be used to image the SAASST building with a size of about 100m. ✅Acquisition of the signal confirmed! 🍀Good luck with your mission and thanks for flying with ION! Why all black, is thermal not a concern? I’m used to seeing high reflectivity white (sometimes as paint) on the PCB for the solar/sheer panels. Blacked out does look sexy though.
