Across the globe, we observe #ZeroHIVStigmaDay with several community collaborators, like International Association of Providers of AIDS Care, to ignite bold and intentional action. We are proud to participate in open conversations about #HIV and HIV stigma, as everything we do at Gilead centers on the people we serve, including making sure that the individual experiences and stories of people impacted by HIV are heard. Read more about this movement and how we can all do our part to rethink HIV.

“If we just sit back and wait for the young men to come, they don’t arrive. So we can’t teach them about sexual health and HIV prevention, and we can’t test them.” Gilead has a long tradition of funding innovative programs and partnering with organizations that aim to improve health equity and address the needs of communities disproportionally affected by disease. In this Gilead-supported program, barbers provide #HIV education to an indigenous community in Australia. #IAS2023

In Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the HIV epidemic is getting worse. Each day, nearly 440 people contract HIV and more than 130 people die from AIDS-related illnesses in the region. Together with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, we’re working to bring about change, but more needs to be done to end AIDS globally by 2030. Learn more about the RADIAN partnership at https://radianhiv.org. #IAS2023

We’ve launched “Zeroing In: Ending the HIV Epidemic in Latin America and the Caribbean,” a new $3 million grant program for community and grassroots organizations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. We're proud to partner with groups throughout the region to support stronger HIV care systems. Since the broader Zeroing In program launched in 2022, we've awarded $24 million in grants globally to help reduce health disparities, improve access to quality healthcare, advance medical education and support local communities most impacted by the HIV epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic.

Art and visual culture play a vital role in visibility and representation for the #LGBTQ+ community. To commemorate the activism of queer artists, Gilead France has partnered with the iconic Centre Pompidou to display an art collection exploring both the victories and struggles that have impacted LGBTQ+ communities. Recently, we hosted more than 135 patient advocates for a guided art tour to commemorate our continued commitment to promote health equity and fight stigma.

This past month, Gilead’s Alex Kalomparis presented our Rainbow Grant Impact Report to community-based organization representatives in Singapore. Since the program launched five years ago, we’ve partnered with groups across Asia Pacific to reach key populations and isolated communities to help ensure they are seen, heard and supported.
