I’m excited to announce that I’ve started a legal technology company, Magistrate. It’s unfair that smart people can’t use the legal system unless they work at a big company or have a lawyer on retainer. We’re changing that. I’ve practiced corporate law for over 7 years at law firms, in-house, and even on my own as a solo practitioner. I’ve written software for almost 30 years. And on the days where I practiced law and wrote software professionally on the same day, I perceived with unique clarity how much the legal world could learn from the software world. We’re starting small, initially focused on providing common legal documents to small businesses. Read the linked launch update to see where we’re going. #technology #law #legal https://bit.ly/3AoEFcb
Amazing - really proud of you and where you are using both your legal and your computer engineering skills. If you need legal representation as you grow, I know of a great boutique, and cost effective, firm. I know one of the founding partners quite well. Happy to make an intro. HMU.
Was rather concerned by the question in the FAQ, "How does blockchain fit in?" but the answer alleviated my concerns...
This is AMAZING, Harry! Congrats and thank you. When I worked with domestic violence victims, I read once that the strongest predicting factor of whether a victim could successfully and safely leave the relationship - was access to legal help. Can't wait to see where Magistrate will go.
I remember talking about computational law with you a year ago, and I'm so jazzed that you're going after the challenge! Good luck with this, Harry!
Harry, this is so exciting! So keen to see where you’re headed. Let me know if I can help in any way.
Congrats Harry! Looking forward to seeing the great things you and the Magistrate team will accomplish!
Congratulations on your new enterprise.
