Today the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade - eliminating the federal, constitutional right to an abortion and leaving the decision up to each state. I am deeply saddened by this decision. I believe that access to abortion is part of basic healthcare; that it is not only a fundamental human right, but also a vital part of building an inclusive and high-functioning society. This is a step backward for both our individual freedoms and our collective prosperity. At Vimeo we support any health-related decision that an individual makes for themselves. We don't support taking that freedom away from our employees. We have Vimeans who live in states where abortion will now be banned or restricted – for those people, we are instituting new policies to safeguard their access to abortions, no questions asked. Effective today, Vimeo has added coverage for travel and lodging expenses that can be reimbursed through our medical plan for anyone needing to travel out of state for an abortion.    Vimeo is committed to supporting any of our colleagues and their families impacted by the Court’s decision. To our current and future Vimeans: when it comes to your right to healthcare, we have your back.

If men could get pregnant, abortions would be available at every gas station.

This isn't just a tweet. Or just a rant. That too is support. However, this is real meaningful response. This is actual Action. This is not openly cocking a snook at the mighty Supreme Court and even more mighty and a lot more mean, patriarchal & parochial men of America. From a woman. A woman of colour. This is going out on a limb. This is divine.

Some people don't think it's healthcare. Some people think it's murder. I hope you have the ability to understand that not everyone is like you. There is diversity in the world, including diversity of thought.

Crazy that the supreme court uses for reference a document that was written in 1789 when women weren't considered equal. Very much in need on an amendment, to go a step further a revision to the constitution.

There needs to be respect for Supreme Court and the law of the land and all companies should follow the same like the way they do for tax and other compliances. This is setting up a wrong precedence. what if the employee wants to commit suicide will you support it as a fundamental right and go all out offer same support?

Everyone is so quick to point out their "rights" but no one wants to talk about their responsibilities. It's not rocket science, having sex can lead to babies. If you aren't ready for the responsibility that can result from your "right" to have sex, then don't. Also, Everyone is so quick to point out extreme cases like life threatening conditions, rape, etc as if they are the norm rather than the exception. And they certainly don't justify free on-demand access to abortion just because you don't want the hassle of a child. Again, if you aren't ready for the responsibility of a child, don't have sex. Murder isn't the "solution" to your "inconvenience".

This stupid idea from the SC that, because it wasn’t noted in the constitution, it is not a right, ignores the 9th Amendment, and many unenumerated/implied/natural rights, currently established and enjoyed. “The Supreme Court has found that unenumerated rights include such important rights as the right to travel, the right to vote, and the right to keep personal matters private.” * Would most, so called, “pro-life” people (just until birth, not including being shot to death at as a child) be OK, if a state said, “you cannot travel outside your state?” * "Ninth Amendment: Non-Enumerated Rights Retained by People - National Constitution Center". Abortion is NOT HEALTHCARE! Healthcare should be prolife and NOT ABORTION ON DEMAND! What is wrong with you people! I’m so grateful we have the Supreme Court Justices that actually make Adult decision’s! On demand abortion especially after the baby’s heartbeat is Murder unless it’s an actually health issue where the mothers life is at jeopardy besides that there is no way that a baby should be killed because she decided I don’t want this baby anymore I don’t think so! Stop being selfish give the baby up for adoption! And I’m not talking about anyone who gets pregnant then decides to get an abortion right away! I don’t agree with it but it’s her choice but after a certain time sorry just put your big girl pants on let’s give that baby a chance! It’s inhumane how the abortion process is even done if you don’t know do your research and I promise you will change your mind it is disturbing and after that if you still think it’s OK to do on-demand abortion after 15 weeks you’re just sick!
