A week on from the edie Sustainability Leaders' Forum, I'm still feeling invigorated from the inspiring talks, people and conversations, so here are my top three takeaways: 1. There is no time to waste when it comes to tackling climate change. This feels like an obvious one, but overwhelm can seriously get in the way - delay is the new denial. When around 25% of the capital of Jakarta is predicted to be under water by 2050, we must take action now - as Sir David King recommended: deep and rapid reductions are the immediate priority ⬇️ 2. The people working in sustainability are some of the most determined I've ever met - the real changemakers, transforming businesses from the inside, being bold and shaping a new direction for their companies that's not just focused on the bottom line, but genuinely trying to do what's best for people and planet 📣 3. A sustainability programme can't ignore suppliers - Scope 3 may be challenging, but it's also a big opportunity. Tackling it gives you the opportunity to engage with your suppliers in a more meaningful way than ever before. And, companies genuinely want meaningful relationships with their suppliers - gone are the days of transactional relationships; it's more important than ever to work WITH suppliers to tackle climate change; the greatest challenge of our time 🤝 I look forward to seeing more urgency, action and supplier engagement off the back of the Edie Forum. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to exchange more ideas/thoughts on these topics - Manufacture 2030 can help. #SLF22 #sustainability #climatechange
