“We have to work together, from an investment perspective, but also by coming together and learning from each other. That has been a key mandate of the CIF since its inception in 2008.” - Mafalda Duarte on CIF’s role as a learning laboratory for climate finance, with a strong focus on South-South dialogue. Last month, we hosted a 4-day learning dialogue among African countries in partners hip with African Development Bank Group, the Government of Côte d’Ivoire. Partner countries were able to share knowledge, identify useful lessons and create or nurture a deep network of contacts. The event also provided opportunities for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, NGOs and MDBs to discuss Climate Investment Funds' Dedicated Grant Mechanism. 📘 Learn more: http://wrld.bg/e9iA50O4XuE #LessonsLearned #Partnerships #ClimateFinance

📯 We're thrilled to announce our 2023/2024 Youth Internship Program. This year, we are looking to contract 1 intern from the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. This is a 6-month internship focused on professional development and coaching on climate finance in general and specifically on Climate Investment Funds' mission and activities. We began our Youth Internship Program in 2020 as an effort to increase outreach & support to youth-led initiatives around climate change worldwide. Our first intern was a Nigerian climate leader, Elohor Oluowo. Elohor helped organize outreach webinars with youth in Africa and started the process of consulting on and drafting the YES strategy. Daria Chekalskaia, our second intern, assisted in our continued outreach to young people in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region, at COP26, and at other international youth events. In February 2022, Daria joined as a consultant to support our engagement team around climate finance training targeting youth. In 2022, we contracted two interns from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Thanaa Hesham played a crucial role in coordinating youth engagement and outreach events in the MENA region during and after COP27, as well as at several youth activities. Loay Radwan also took an important position with our Evaluation and Learning team. Join them and apply before May 18! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e6ZWCBFA

"Transformational change requires a “re-perception” to shift from a political economy that emphasizes profit maximization, exploitation, and individualism to one that recognizes the interconnectivity of all people to each other and the environment." Last month Wilton Park & the Transformational Change Learning Partnership hosted by Climate Investment Funds discussed the transformational change potential of the #COP27 loss & damage funding agreement. 🔖 Review the key findings 👇 https://lnkd.in/e8WHpEwe #TransformationalChange #ClimateFinance #ClimateAction
💬 'The only way to truly be transformative is to fix the deep systems that led to the climate crisis rather than merely addressing the surface level affects.' 🌍 Read our report assessing the transformational potential of the groundbreaking Loss & Damage agreement signed at #cop27 ⬇ 🤝 Climate Investment Funds #climatecrisis #climatechange #climateresilience #climateaction
