This stupidity of saying AMD is in the rear view mirror shows why Intel failed in the consumer market in the last few years. AMD's leadership finally woke up Intel leadership and made you respond. Finally a competitor made you innovate. AMD also helped Intel make its products competitive instead of pricing your consumer CPUs as high as you wanted to. How about the failure of Intel's fabs? It took Intel years to get to 10nm nodes. Now your fabs can't do better so Intel had to make use of TSMC. That's another leadership failure. Instead of slamming your main CPU competitor you need to repair your infrastructure and reign in your ego. The power efficiency of your consumer CPUs need work. Intel needs to stop introducing new consumer chipsets too often or is raking in money from each new change in chipsets your manifesto?

Intel launched a 10nm processor in November 2021, 364 days after AMD launched their 7nm chip, and somehow you claim superiority? Intel's arrogance is staggering. AMD are about to launch a 4nm chip, while still Intel lags behind in what can only be described as a legacy manufacturing process. Instead of talking down AMD's impressive achievements, how about you acknowledge them and strive to actually compete? Make a comparable product for a comparable cost. Beat them on the field, not in media releases.

Pat, I couldn’t help but notice you said nothing about Apple when you mentioned AMD… if Intel had slotted these changes in 2019 (I know that was not your watch) would you have been able to keep Apple? We will have to see what Intel actually does in 2022… I wish you well, but I am not prepared to trust Intel yet… others will have to be the test dummy’s… I be burned (literally) enough. I start with the 4004 and 8008 processors, so I go a long way back the Intel… but when Intel innovated, not imitated. The sweater is pretty good.

I hope he's more adequate in real life. I do appreciate the positivity and energy, but my bullsh** alarm rang a few times too much watching this. Having said that, and having added that Intel dropped the ball consistently for the last 7 years, I can say that it's a company with quite a few achievements in way many areas than (my favourite) AMD, and I'm sure they can rise from the ashes... someday.

Took 4 generations of CEO'S to hinder the manufacturing process and to eliminate job satisfaction. Will you be able to transform intel back into "a great place to work" and return the manufacturing to industry leading?

On a social level, my dream here at Intel is to be able to walk the halls and the cafe and all over without a mask and wish the same would be for all others. Something I hope for between this year and when I decide to retire (15+ years from now). Is it too much to ask for?? To hold a meeting in person, to join others at a table in the cafe. Last time Intel employees did this was probably in 2019.

I honestly don't understand all the negativity in the comments. You seem like a fun and invigorating CEO. AMD has made many blunders and some of the comments berating Intel for putting the blinders on and not being competitive for a long time are true. I do hope that the mistake isn't repeated. Intel needs to practice being transparent and not misleading consumers. AMD made an old PR post about 4GB GPUs is not enough for 2020, but then deletes the post so they can release a 4GB card conscience free. (They added it back after they were caught.) Don't be like that. When Intel had 10850k on for $400, matching the 5600X in a lot of respects and beating in others, it made a ton of sense to give Intel another shot after being pro AMD for over a decade. I'm incredibly happy and you deserve to be optimistic. Alderlake is somewhat better in a lot of regards and people ignore how much Intel has done and the fact AMD's nm isn't translatable to an Intel nm. The two are so fundamentally different, but people are so bent out of shape and consider themselves experts because someone on xyz social platform said this or that when performance benchmarks prove the pudding, every day. Keep up the good work, Intel and happy 2022.

Wow! Great presentation and ideas! You are a great thought leader. I note FYI maybe the 12th point you could add is Safety or HSE as it is known best. I was awarded the CEO’s Special Safety award from Samsung Electronics then CEO YW Lee for Samsung Austin Semiconductor. See below the Silver Loving Cup award from Samsung is pictured. I have consulted at Intel in the past also in Fab construction and made recommendations. Glad to hear you have a new Global Fab Safety Director in 2021. I will post a photo of YW Lee.

Today, I am pleased to announce our European investment plans. This is bigger than one fab or two fabs. This is a holistic investment strategy that will help create a next-gen European chip ecosystem and address the need for a more balanced and resilient supply chain. That vision begins today, with an initial investment of more than 33 billion euros. There are multiple facets to this, across multiple countries, so let me walk through each one. We call our new planned Germany site the “silicon junction” because it connects the technology hubs across the country and region. (As a geek, I like that junction is a real term to describe a region in a semiconductor.) On this #PresidentsDay I recommend checking out, "Washington: A Life" by Ron Chernow (one of my favorite biographers). We all have been taught to think of George as the father of our country, but reading his life story reminded me of how narrow the revolutionary victory was. Surrounded by the tremendous fragility of our nation’s early beginnings, wrestling with slavery (even in the early days), the difficult and sometimes chaotic forming of our government, Washington could easily have assumed the mantle as the newborn country’s first monarch. Instead, he chose to pass the baton and champion democracy to “realize, without alloy, the sweet enjoyment of partaking, in the midst of my fellow-citizens, the benign influence of good laws under a free government…”

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to address the investor community about how we are building the next chapter of this iconic company. We told a story of innovation that will keep Moore’s Law alive and well for the next decade, a story of a future immersive, digital experiences. As we embark on the next era of computing, I believe we have a robust strategy to deliver leadership products across our six business units -- not to mention our core strengths in manufacturing, software and security. Coupled with our amazing talent and our willingness to find innovative ways to unlock shareholder value, I truly believe Intel is the next great growth company. As I reflect on this path to the future, I can't help but take a moment to appreciate what I have been able to witness first-hand.
