Astrobotic’s Post
Congrats to Astrobot Kyle Adams for winning this month’s Peregrine Award, recognizing individual excellence.🥇✨🌙 Q&A with Kyle: ✏️ Q: What are you most proud of accomplishing since you started in Jan. 2020? A: One of my main goals has been to develop an analysis process that will ensure that our power systems can handle our mission profiles. I’m proud that we have developed a tool to model the solar power generation and conversion, and successfully validated it against test results. The analysis work will never truly be complete until the mission is over, but with very recent efforts from the team our predictions now have orders of magnitude more fidelity than when I started. Q: How did you first become interested in your career? A: I had an incredible physics teacher in high school, so I knew when I was 17 that I wanted to become an engineer. Q: What project are you currently working on? A: I’m currently the lead EPS engineer on our Peregrine & Griffin lander programs. Q: What do you like most about your job? A: I like having a broad role that allows me to be involved with all interfaces of our power system to vendors/consultants, launch providers, and other Astrobotic subsystem teams – while still carrying out detailed analysis and design work on my own system.

“This success marks a major program milestone for Peregrine mission as well as for Astrobotic as a company. Confirming the technical capabilities of our team and our custom-built avionics and communications systems in a sophisticated, system-level spacecraft test was a tremendous success. Seeing the entire team overcome test challenges felt close to flying the actual mission. This is a great accomplishment for our historic trip to the Moon,” - Ander Solorzano, Flight Director & Lead Systems Engineer https://lnkd.in/eE4cXkEt #NASA #space #success
On this #InternationalMoonDay, we're honoring the past and looking ahead to when Peregrine lands on the Moon later this year. With 24 payloads and tens of thousands of individuals joining us through our DHL #MoonBox program, we're humbled to have so many of you aboard.
“We came all this way to explore the Moon, and the most important thing is that we discovered the Earth,” - Astronaut Bill Anders. Happy Day, everyone. We are honored to be leading America back to the Moon so soon after the 50th anniversary of #Apollo
