OUR ACTION: #Benin Through our Fit for Market programmes, we support the competent public services (#DPV and #ABSSA) in the strengthening of the national food safety system. As for the private sector, support is mainly focused on issues related to national and international regulations (in particular the new EU Plant Protection Regulation) and private standards, sanitary quality management and good agricultural practices, with a focus on organic production, as well as market access. The actions to strengthen the skills of the actors of the pineapple sector are organized either transversally through the professional organization (#ANEAB) or the interprofessional organization (#AIAB), or through individual support to companies. In order to better support this sector, We are in partnership with active projects in Benin such as the PINEX project (USDA U.S. Department of Agriculture funding) and the PARASEP (Projet d’Appui au Renforcement des Acteurs du Secteur Privé) project (co-funded by #EU- AFD - Agence Française de Développement ). #FFM #SPS #Benin #growingpeople #growingbusiness #pineapple #agribusiness # agrifood

FPEAK was part of the working groups which developed the Good Practice Guides for Avocado and Beans and Peas in Pods. The two GPGs which were launched on 3rd May 2023 at Mercure Hotel, Nairobi, are supposed to help Kenya to maintain their market share of the two value chains in the EU and UK. Exporters are expected to use the two documents to ensure that they are using good practices on both National and International Market Requirements.
