Growing People, Growing Business - Episode 2: #EUROPEAID With its European "Green Deal", the European Union promotes healthy and fair food that respects the environment. The agricultural strategy "From Farm to Fork" encourages the practice of organic farming and insists on the transition towards sustainable and affordable food. Farmers and fishermen and SMEs have an essential role to play in this transition. SMEs have seen their production and distribution systems disorganized and have had to readapt. #EU wants to support SMEs stronger role along the chain "from farm to fork". FPEAK was part of the working groups which developed the Good Practice Guides for Avocado and Beans and Peas in Pods. The two GPGs which were launched on 3rd May 2023 at Mercure Hotel, Nairobi, are supposed to help Kenya to maintain their market share of the two value chains in the EU and UK. Exporters are expected to use the two documents to ensure that they are using good practices on both National and International Market Requirements.
