I used to be like 99% of people who are not using video in customer conversations. But here are 3 pre-sales and 3 post-sales use-cases how you can truly stand out by leveraging video. Yup, it is awkward to see yourself on video and/or listen to your own voice 🙋♂️ People are scared to leverage video in customer communication. Why people are not using video: ❌ Video is not received well by my customer. ❌ Video takes too much time to record. ❌ Video is not a scalable medium. Why people should use video: ✅ Video is processed 60,000 times faster than text. ✅ Video is 50x faster shared internally by customers. ✅ Video is 10x more authentic than email or message. Video is the most authentic way of digital outreach you can leverage. ↳ More than email. ↳ More than phone. ↳ More than LinkedIn. ↳ More than Direct Mail. Sure, I also find it somewhat scary at the beginning. I was recording my videos over and over again (and still do, see my screenshot). But that was almost 7 years ago… I’m far over the perfection piece. Video is just working. And 99% of the sellers are not using it. And one more thing…. Video is not only for prospecting. Just some pre- and post-sales use-cases for leveraging video: 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗲-𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀: 1️⃣ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 👉 Use Case: Use video tools like Vidyard or Loom to create personalized video introductions for prospects. These can be sent before a meeting to introduce yourself and provide a brief overview of what will be discussed or after the demo to summarize the highlight of the meeting. 2️⃣ 𝗔𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 👉 Use Case: Record demo videos that prospects can watch at their convenience. This is particularly useful for initial product demonstrations; focus here on short and snappy videos since people don't prefer long video; think in snippets. 3️⃣ 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 👉 Create asynchronous videos that address the most common questions buyers ask during the initial purchasing your software. 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗲-𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀: 4️⃣ 𝗢𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 👉 Use video tools to create comprehensive onboarding and training materials for new customers. 5️⃣ 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗨𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 👉 Answer the most common onboarding and/or adoption questions your new customers ask during the post-sales cycle - without having to waste time answering them on live calls. 6️⃣ 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 👉 Regularly update customers on their progress and upcoming features through asynchronous video updates.
