At #SCEWC19 we had a chance to learn from ENGIE about one of their latest success stories, the project they will start in January for Angers Loire Métropole. Following a competitive bidding process that took almost a year of hard work, ENGIE's consortium was selected by the Angers Loire Métropole to create France’s first “smart region.” Starting in January 2020 teams from #ENGIESolutions, SUEZ, Le Groupe La Poste, and the VYV Group will develop innovative solutions, working closely alongside the local community, its partners, local companies and residents. The aim is to use innovation and technology to make the region more sustainable and improve the quality of life of its residents, by accelerating the region's energy transition, managing resources more efficiently, and optimizing public services. ENGIE's team will be installing sensors and renewals. If their efforts are successful they will reduce public lighting spending by 2025, public buildings energy consumption will be reduced by 20%, traffic will run more smoothly and easily, and municipal water spending for parks and trees will be reduced by 30%. #smartcities #resourcemanagement #iot #energytransition #energy #smartmobility #smartparking #sustainability
