Scandal Brings USC Into the Elite Ranks https://lnkd.in/gMSDSBi Funniest headline I have ever seen. Colleges have always been corrupt. How did GW Bush get into Yale? How did Jared Kushner get into Harvard? (or FDR for that matter). It's not about the money of course, it is about elitism and keeping undesirables out of the elite. Is a history major more employable after graduating from Harvard? Of course but not because Harvard is better at teaching history. Connections will get you hired. They will also get you elected President. So people pay. But they are not paying for education they are paying for perceived status. #education #presidency #employability
Opinion | Scandal Brings USC Into the Elite Ranks

There seems to be a certain level of the sense of invincibility ( arrogance ? ) that seeps into human beings ( and institutions run by humans ) after a level of accomplishment. Then they look around and see other people/institutions behaving badly and corruptly around the world. So, they conclude that they are missing out and must join in the game. I think that they are intelligent and are testing the system. If they can get away with it; they will raise their bar of corruption and rhetoric. So, it is not a good idea to ignore them and go unpunished thinking that the system is resilient enough to self- correct. It is not.
But the elites shied away from mail fraud before this. Times must be tough.
What a way to get into the "elite rank"!!!

Roger thank you for changing the way we think of learning. I had the chance to put some of your theories to use in the classroom.
